Berry Pickers

004

Some pictures of my first berry picking experence with some of my awesome friends! There were raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries there. The best part about berry picking is the free berries that I ate while no one (particularly the owners) was looking. However, this backfired because I got a big, very noticeable stain from sampling a big juicy blackberry. Oooops!

I  promise this is not just some random flower...blackberries bushes have flowers too!

Couples Retreat

020

We head to the beach every chance we can. As a couple, that is our favorite retreat. A couple friend of our's invited us to go with them to the beach and of course we jumped on board! We shopped, sun-bathed, and ate at an awesome seafood buffet with all you can eat crab legs. We had a blast especially due to the pleasant and fun company! I enjoy my husband's company very much and it is great when it is just me and him, but sometimes additional company can be fun and refreshing. It is a treat to travel with friends and family and we look forward to it.

(And speaking of couples, these lovebirds had a little date on our porch! It was the cutest thing! They would not budge from that spot for a good long time  even when Micah went in and out of the house.)

A Change of Tide

Birthday Girl

For a little while, I was doing pretty good there about making this a fashion blog but then that started to fade out. The next thing I know I am reverting to just taking pretty photos again! I'm just being honest, I am not as interested in documenting daily outfits. Not saying I am going to give up fashion blogging completely (you may see some outfit posts occasionally).  Instead, I would rather use my time hunting down "too pretty to wear everyday" dresses that are only good for one thing: photos. I love clothes, shoes, jewelry, and all that girly stuff, but dreamy and flowy dresses rules my closet!

It's all because I love mixing ethereal, dreamy (and impractical) dresses with pretty landscapes and scenery. This makes up a big part of my photographic DNA. So, yes guys, this blog is going to see more of that style again with lifestyle updates here and there. That's just what I am better at! I love casual wear fashion but at the end of the day I'm a daydreamer that likes to make pretty images come to life in my photos.

These photos were taken yesterday...on my birthday. I wasn't so excited to mention that part. Even though I am a year older, I actually didn't want my birthday to end. I felt so much love from people in my life. My husband treated me like a spoiled queen, more than usual. We ate at Cheesecake's on my birthday's eve. We took home some cheesecake (I got the chocolate mousse and hubs got the Godiva). I ate the cheesecake in bed on my birthday morning for breakfast which resulted in chocolate stains on my sheets, probably a detail I should leave out but I tend to overshare, always. We went to church and then we took a 3 hour nap afterwards! Not really my birthday request but more of my tired hubby's idea but as the birthday girl I approved of this. Then we went to a daisy field and took photos and went for a little walk on an overgrown and dilapidated golf course. Then we went home and microwaved some dinner because I wasn't going to cook dinner on my birthday! So, that's my special day. Simple but a lovely birthday nevertheless.

Life Update in Pictures

237
We are still in San Antonio, Texas enjoying spending time with family. Get ready for a picture overload! I'm usually the photographer between Micah and I but he was being more trigger friendly than usual during this trip. He finally caught the photography bug from me and he's got it really bad. The places we visited were the San Antonio River Walk, San Jose Mission, and Mi Tierra Restaurant at the Mercado.

The Christmas tree at the mall and a passing motorboat.

One of the neat views of the riverwalk.

Tons of restaurants with tables in between the river and sidewalk.

My good-looking photographer finally let me switch roles with him.

Heh, another photo of me.

We ate dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. Yes, the grandma looking lady with the orange headwrap, and shawl over the shoulders is me. And yes, we ate right on the sidewalk so that everyone can stare at us while we were eating.

Copycat pose of a cowboy picture I saw somewhere but do not recall where.
268
Cacti growing on roofs? And me wearing a cowboy hat? Unusual...

It's sad that the sign forbids people from climbing trees. What's even more sad is that I was disappointed because I totally wanted a picture perched on the tree.
149
Me and my obsession of taking pictures with trees. I ought to do a collage of pictures of this obsession sometime. It would be quite an impressive collection.

House Update in Pictures

DSC_3864
1.) The Chrismas wreath I made back in early November.

2.) Our comfy and handsome livingroom. "Handsome" seems like the proper word because it is more on the masculine side. Above the couch is the collage of family photos that we are still working on. We have some gorgeous gold frames that are still pictureless. Can't wait to update you with the finished project.

3.) Our fun and rustic reclaimed wood cart. Everytime we have kids over they want to ride on it. Yeah, it's not very childproof.

3.) My updated indoor garden. I am growing some herbs this year. Can't wait until they yield me my own grown tasty herbs!

4.) The piano where the more colorful things in the house hang out. Kind of plain but it's not the final product.Still playing around with ideas with what I want to do with this space. But it will do for now.

4.) Christmas tree search.
I will now be posting again more regularly! We had some family over for a week, so it's been busy around here. Hope you have a great week!
