Wearing a Halo

I worked hard to earn this halo! It took me a grueling half an hour's work and 11 bobby pins. All that hard work and Micah didn't even like it. I aways have some new obsession and this week it's braids and updos lately. Maybe because my hair is getting Polynesian length long again and the options of styles are "lengthy". I'm gonna do a post some time this week on braids and put up a few tutorials of some neat braids.

I sure hope your Sunday went as well as mine! Sunday is my favorite day of the week. Church is always fantastic and we usually take a yummy little nap afterwards! It is also a very relaxing day around the house because the only plan we really make for Sunday is to go to church. I love the feeling of not having any time constraints. We just lounge around the couch watching shows or movies. We sometimes take a little walk or take photos for my blog before dinner. Another perk for this day, and this one is more for Micah, is that I usually do my best cooking on Sundays because I have more time to prepare. So, our favorite meals are usually saved for Sundays.

A Portrait of My Little Sister

Isn't she a little darling? That's my little sister for you! These portraits portray her style completely. She is drawn to the gothic and mysterious side for reasons that I cannot comprehend. Although, I have a tendency to be drawn to it to once in awhile, I only like some (let me emphasize some) gothic things merely for the aesthetics. As the wiser, older sis that constantly quips advice and wisdom, I told her just don't cross that line that takes you into the macabre and eerie things!
Could you believe that these pictures were actually taken just at my home? It was cold when my family was visiting and outdoor pics were not an option for this little island girl. So we made a makeshift studio in the bonus room and viola! Not too shabby for not having all the equipment for studio photography. I will be sharing some more of studio style pics soon. Big Hair, Big Shoes

I never really paid much attention to my hair. Not until recently! My hair has become an obsession. It has finally gotten longer and this may be why I am a little more excited about it. I've done more with my hair in the past 2 weeks than I have ever done with it in 2 years! I've dyed it twice and I went through a whole can of hairspray, which usually lasts me a whole year! Oh and it didn't help that when I visited my family in NYC my little sister introduced me to some magical powder, and now I am addicted to it! Ahem, magical powder that volumizes your hair that is...Sorry if you have known about this for years now! I live in the boonies and am a little behind about innovative beauty products that big city dwellers know way in advance about. Petals On My Shoulders

The pains I went through to take these pictures all by myself! And I am not even happy with how they turned out. You have no idea, but I am about to let you know: I had to move an 8 feet long table, 8 chairs, a picture, not to mention other technical difficulties for not having a cordless remote control for the camera. Oh and the best part was running back and forth in 5 inch heels from camera to chair. Ok, enough huffing and puffing from me.

This is the dress that I had mentioned I was waiting for in the mail. It's a keeper! I won't be selling it on Ebay, ever! Despite what Micah thinks (he thinks all of my stuff always ends up on Ebay). Guys.

Ballerina Bun

Let's talk about buns! Not the edible kind or the kind some of us like to give little pinches on our husbands (or am I alone in that department?). I'm talking about the hairstyle that makes us all feel as graceful as a ballerina, or at least just look like one. True story, while working at SAKS, one day I was donning one of these buns and I had a sweet elderly lady ask me if I was a ballerina! And I don't think she was after my employee discount. It was one of the most memorable compliment I had ever recieved and I did twirls at my cash register for the rest of that day.

Lace In the Sunshine

If you haven't noticed by now, I love to jump especially for pictures. It's kind of my signature pose, haha! Although, I am not famous for it like this girl (pretty cool, right?). What can I say, I know how to have fun with fashion! So, this post is more of an outfit post because that is just my natural inclination to blog about.
