We wrapped up our summer travels by taking a short camping trip to the eastern NC mountains. We squeezed in alot in 1 1/2 days. The highlights were Sliding Rock, Lake Lure, and Chimney Rock.
Sliding Rock stole the show for me. It's a little waterfall that you slide down on. I was worried about the rocks being rough on my little behind but it was surprisingly slippery and smooth! Besides all the warning about how chilly the water was, I actually went down the slide. This was a brave feat for me because I am a wimp when it comes to being cold! I could only handle going down once because my lips were turning blue! Or that's just my excuse to not get into that cold water again. I hope you had a good Labor Day weekend!
